Engineering

Position : Electrical Engineer job # 003-10
Location : Westford, MA

Description :

Electrical engineer responsible for the design and development of a broad range of innovative electronics for medical lasers. Design experience with electronic systems, circuits, sub-assemblies and circuit boards is required. The successful candidate must have competence in general electronics, power electronics, analog & digital electronics with an emphasis on system level design. Medical device or laser experience is not required although relevant experience is always a plus.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the specification, design, implementation, and test of circuit boards including analog, digital & power electronics circuits for high power medical lasers
  • Expertise with schematic capture tools (orcad) and a thorough understanding of proper component placement, routing and PCB design guidelines.
  • Responsible for the electrical development of projects including design verification and system level integration of analog and digital electronic subsystems.
  • Demonstrated competence in general Analog and Digital is required.
  • System level design & troubleshooting experience including integration of multiple pcb's
  • Power conversion, power electronics design experience including SMPS's
  • Basic competence with PCB layout (allegro) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of IEC/UL standards for medical devices.
  • Experience developing medical devices in an ISO and FDA regulated environment.
  • Selection and qualification of new electronic components
  • RF power design or high speed circuit design experience is a plus.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

Field Service

Position : Field Service Engineer/Technician Job Code # 002-10
Location : Houston, TX

Description :

Performs customer support activities for equipment, systems and sub-systems.



Specific Duties and Responsibilities :

Key Results Area: 

  •  Repair, test, calibrate and install laser systems, sub-systems and/or sub-assemblies
  • Report to supervisor any potential problems which could impact timely completion of assigned tasks, equipment shortcomings, and more complex equipment problems
  • Maintain complete and accurate service records
  • Interact with customers and monitor accounts
  • Provide on-site technical support to customers as required
  • Provide on-site technical support for workshops and/or shows
  • Overnight travel up to fifty (50) percent
  • May require International Travel
  • Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor
  • Provide technical support and business guidance remotely through call center on
    non-scheduled service days.
  • Completion of tasks as assigned by management

  • Familiarity with computers, DOS, Word and Excel
  • Maintain company assigned vehicle, tools, fixtures and test equipment in satisfactory condition.
