Clinical

Position : Clinical Research Manager
Location : Westford, MA

Description :

Job Purpose: Provide leadership in managing and monitoring clinical studies. Oversee and coordinate all aspects of ongoing clinical research study projects to ensure FDA requirements and company objectives. This includes direction into investigational plan development of future clinical trials conducted by Cynosure.

Key Results Area:

  • Provide a leadership role in managing/monitoring multiple clinical research trials to support product needs throughout the product life cycle
  • Assist with the coordination and operational aspects of new and ongoing projects to ensure company goals are on time, at cost and product quality performance expectations
  • Assists in implementing all activities required to conduct and monitor complex clinical trials according to GCP
    Conducts study monitoring visits
  • Put together clinical protocols, CRFs and ICFs for clinical trials and assist clinicians with IRB submission and approval
  • Support marketing efforts by participating as a team member in opinion leader development
  • Ensures that data from CRFs are reviewed and processed in a timely fashion
  • Assists in the compilation/writing of medical reports and clinical sections to support regulatory filings as required
  • Provide Customer feedback and input to customer product requests
  • Other duties as required
  • Expected travel 40%+

Functional Expertise:

  • Knowledge of Federal Regulations and GCP, as applicable to the conduct and execution of medical device trials.
  • Outstanding communication skills, oral and written
  • Demonstrated knowledge of collection and analysis of data from trials
  • Experience developing comfort and report with physicians and staff
  • Experience writing protocols and ICF
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with public speaking to employees, management and at clinical/technical meetings

Behavioral and Interpersonal:

  • Ability to manage tasks on multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to work well independently in the medical setting, as well as a member of an integrated team in-house

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in a scientific or healthcare field.
  • Industry Training and/or certifications (e.g., ACRP, SoCRA CCRP)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably at least 1 year in medical device field as a clinical research professional, or a combination of experience in industry and at the investigational site level.
  • Training and experience in monitoring of clinical trials - in house and investigational site

Engineering

Position : Electrical Engineer - Job # 021-09
Location : Westford, MA

Description :

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the electrical design and development of analog and digital electronic and control of laser systems for medical applications.

Key Results Area:

  • Responsible for the specification, design, implementation, and testing of analog and digital electronics circuits and subassemblies for medical laser systems.
  • Expertise with schematic capture tools, and electronic packaging.
  • Manage the electrical development of projects as well as directly contribute to the design verification and system level integration of analog and digital electronic subsystems.
  • Electronic System design experience including wiring and cooling a must.
  • Power conversion design experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in PCB layout (Allegro)
  • Demonstrated competence in Analog and Digital is required.
  • RF power design experience and PID control loop design a plus.
  • Experience developing medical devices in an ISO and FDA regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of IEC/UL standards for medical devices.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

Position : Senior Engineering Technician - Job # 022-09
Location : Westford, MA

Description :

Job Purpose:
Technical support of engineering in development of medical laser products. Performs complex technical
assembly and testing tasks with optical, electronic, and mechanical systems.

Key Results Area:

  • Assist engineers with the design, assembly, and testing of prototype laser systems and subsystems.
  • Complete tasks using schematics, rough sketches, and verbal instructions.
  • Develop the setup of test equipment and appropriate test parameters on new laser systems.
  • Develop new and/or improved fixturing for assembly and test.
  • Prepares documentation for engineering change orders for medical products.
  • Analyze and summarize test results.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

Behavioral and Interpersonal:

  • Independent worker with ability to take responsibility for completing complex tasks and making recommendations for improvement.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This is not a supervisory position.

Sphere of Influence:

  • This position interacts with the engineering team.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Electronics or Laser technology preferred.
  • 4-6 years in electronics and/or optics manufacturing and testing. Preferably in lasers and optics.

 

Position : Senior Optical Designer - Job # 023-09
Location : Westford, MA

Description :

Job Purpose:
Provide engineering leadership and experience as a senior optical designer.

Key Results Area:
  • Capability of designing an optical system consisting of a solid state laser resonator with an output of ~100W with associated monitoring and delivery systems for medical applications.

Critical Competencies:

  • Ability to design and specify optical materials, substrates and coatings, for laser resonators and their delivery systems.
  • Ability to use spectrophotometric techniques to determine optical characteristics of materials
  • Ability to accurately apply radiometric measurements for a wide range of energies, pulse widths and wavelengths, including power meters, photodetectors and oscilloscopes
  • Familiarity with electro-optics, optical detectors, laser diode/LED sources, fiber optics and fiber coupling techniques
  • Competence with SolidWorks to realize designs into opto-mechanical assemblies
  • Work with engineering staff and R&D physicists to tradeoff performance/cost compromises
  • Knowledge of laser-tissue interaction a plus

     
Behavioral and Interpersonal:

  • Ability to work with a wide range of disciplines – from direct communication with a physician to all phases of product development including clinical research, design and marketing support.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Independent thinker and doer – wide range of skills required in this interdisciplinary position

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position will interact with a variety of individuals both internal and external. May supervise engineers.

  • BA in optical engineering
  • 10+ years experience in optical design of lasers and optical delivery systems
  • Medical experience not a requirement, however the ability to attend treatments/surgeries a must

Marketing

Position : Product Manager -Job # 027-09
Location : Westford, MA

Description :

Job Purpose: Develop marketing strategies and execute tactics for domestic markets to meet corporate sales objectives for one (or more) of Cynosure’s flagship aesthetic workstations.

Key Results Area:

  • Drive the fast-paced development of ads, literature, technical papers, videos and all collateral materials
  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate sales and promotional programs to determine their success
  • Develop broad and specific knowledge of competitive products and companies and develop marketing strategies and for sales situations. Serve as technical advisor on all marketing matters
  • Serve as product trainer for global sales force
  • Prepare extensive launch packages for effective promotion of new products
  • Interface with R&D, Engineering and other departments regarding new products and enhancements
  • Work directly with key customers to cultivate relationships within the medical community and monitor clinical sties/clinical research to help obtain data, and cultivate relationships in order to achieve product goals
  • Develop and work within budgets for programs
  • Investigate new markets and propose new products within those markets
  • Identify trends throughout the medical marketplace, especially, but not limited to laser
  • Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor
  • Approximately 40% travel is required

Critical Competencies:

  • Develop and manage content and collateral including sales tools, presentations, collateral material, KOL relationships and competitive write-ups
  • Provide direction for sales training.

Minimum Level of Education:

  • Medical device experience preferred
  • Experience of laser/aesthetic market is a plus

Physical Requirements/ADA:

  • May require lifting/pushing of laser machines at tradeshows/workshops/customer sites
  • Requires use of automobile for customer visits
  • Requires occasional presence in OR (appropriate vaccinations required) and possible handling of chemical waste
  • May require standing for prolonged period of time (up to 8 hours) at tradeshows
